If you sell products or services, you can add these as items to your invoices. After you save an item, it can be reused. This speeds up your invoice entry by being able to choose an item, instead of manually typing its description each time you sell it. An item can be:
a physical thing that your business sells
a service that your business offers, like, on-site service fee or 1 hour consultation.
Creating an item
You can create an item when you’re sending an invoice or from the product and services list. If you’re in an invoice, tap Add item to get started, or go to More then tap Products and services.
Tap the plus sign (+).
Fill in the item details. If you’re in an invoice, you can save the item if you think you’ll use it again or just add it to this invoice by turning off Save to products and services.
Tap Save or Add to invoice.
Entering prices with or without GST on an item
If you're registered for GST, the way you enter prices is decided by your preferences in invoice settings. You can also change this setting on individual items, which means that you can enter prices on an invoice that either already include GST and add GST on top.
For example, you may want to use this setting if you offer a maintenance service where GST is added on top (GST exclusive), but sometimes sell parts that already have GST included (GST inclusive). When you create an item for a part you sell, you can change the price setting on it so that you enter the price with the GST already added in.
Change the way you enter a price on an item
You can change this setting when you create or update an item. Open the item:
Next to Item options, tap Change.
Tap Price setting and choose:
Include GST
Add GST.
Tap Save.
